The Odachi, often wrongly referred to as a nodachi sword or no-dachi features a traditional hand braided leather wrap a blackened steel tsuba and pommel along with beautiful red tassels. The sharp battle ready high carbon steel blade is mounted with a traditional copper habaki. The scabbard of our odachi sword is hand-made from wood, and it is covered in leather as shown. The Odachi Giant Samurai swords high carbon steel blade is hand forged over hot coals, using many of the original ancient techniques passed down through the generations of ancient sword smiths. Each tsuba and end cap is individually hand cast in blackened steel for functionality and ease of upkeep. A traditional solid copper habaki is hand fitted to each 40" long, 1-3/8" wide fully functional blade which attests to its authenticity.
